  • And that’s only the beginning…

Why is your Toshiba Fire TV stuck on loading screen?

Your Toshiba Fire TV is stuck on the loading screen because it has internet connection issues or it was powered OFF in the wrong way. Another reason why this can happen is because of outdated firmware. It’s also possible that the TV is incorrectly wired with the power.

Toshiba Fire TV stuck on loading screen: 5 fixes (2023)

#1: Restart your Toshiba Fire TV

Sometimes, the most basic solution can be the most effective.

A simple restart of your Toshiba Fire TV can often solve several issues, including a stuck loading screen.

With the physical buttons on the TV

You can do this simply by doing these 2 steps while the TV is turned ON:

  1. Locate the Power button on the TV.
  2. Press and hold it until the Toshiba – Fire TV logo appears.

With the remote control

Another way is to do it via the Toshiba Fire TV remote.

Just follow these 2 easy steps:

  1. Locate the Select and Play/Pause buttons.
  2. Press and hold these 2 buttons for 5 seconds.

After it’s restarted, check if the TV’s seamlessly loading.

#2: Try a different outlet

Believe it or not, the power source can have a significant impact on your TV.

If your Toshiba Fire TV is connected to an electrical extension, consider plugging it directly into a wall outlet.

These devices work better when you connect the supplied power cord straight to the outlet.

If it’s already connected to a wall socket, try a different one.

This simple change might make a difference.

#3: Power Cycle your TV

Performing a power cycle is a safe way to troubleshoot small issues.

See, after a while, your TV can build up a residual electric charge in your TV.

This can lead to annoying glitches like a screen that’s stuck on loading.

With a power cycle, you simply discharge your TV.

Plus, if you also restart your router, your Toshiba Fire TV will get a good refresh.

That being said, here’s how to power cycle your TV in 4 easy steps:

  1. Unplug the power cable from the outlet. Additionally, unplug your internet router.
  2. Leave them both unplugged for 2 minutes.
  3. After that, plug everything back straight into the outlets.
  4. Wait 1 minute before turning the TV on.

Done!

This short restart in power can help clear out minor glitches causing the loading screen issue.

#4: Perform a software update

Outdated software can lead to various problems, including the loading screen issue.

See, if there’s a widespread problem, customers may report this to the TV manufacturer.

The company can often respond to that by releasing an update that fixes it.

Therefore, it’s worthwhile to keep your TV up to date by performing a software update.

To do that, you need to get to the Toshiba Fire TV menu.

So, if your TV passes by the loading screen from time to time and you can get to the TV settings, it becomes easy.

Simply follow these 5 steps:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote control.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Device & Software.
  4. Choose About.
  5. Then go to Check for System Update, and if there’s already one available, then select Install System Update.

Note: The TV has to be connected to the internet in order to download the software update.

#5: Factory reset your Toshiba Fire TV

If the problem persists, a factory reset is the ultimate method in line.

This brings your Toshiba Fire TV back to how it was brand new and without a stuck loading screen.

Warning: This step erases all the user data, apps, and personalized settings. Therefore, take note of your login information since you might need it when you set up the TV again.

With the remote control

If your TV starts up normally from time to time and you manage to get to the settings, you take these 5 easy steps:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote control.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Device & Software.
  4. Choose Reset to Factory Defaults.
  5. Confirm by selecting Reset.

Without the remote control

This method is more DYI and at your own risk.

But this worked for others, and if you feel confident enough, then you can try these 9 easy steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the TV.
  2. Press and hold the Power button on the TV.
  3. Keep pressing the Power button and plug the power cord back into the outlet.
  4. Then, keep pressing the Power button until the Toshiba – Fire TV logo appears.
  5. Wait until the Recovery mode menu appears.
  6. To navigate through the Recovery mode menu, you’ll need to use the Power button. A short tap on it is to choose and a long press is to select.
  7. Tap it until you choose Wipe Data/Factory reset.
  8. When chosen, long press and hold the Power button.
  9. Then choose and select Yes to confirm the Factory reset.

When the factory reset is done, we’ll need to reboot the system.

While you’re still in the recover mode menu, it’s easy by doing these 3 steps:

  1. Choose Reboot System Now.
  2. Select it by long pressing the Power button until the TV turns off.

The TV will restart now, which can take a couple of minutes.

When that’s done, you can set up your Tohisba Fire TV again.

Now, it’s possible that you’ll need to re-pair your remote control after this reset.

No worries, I got your back on this.

It’s easy to pair your remote control with these 2 easy steps:

  1. Press and hold the Home button for 12 seconds.
  2. Then wait for 1 minute or until you hear a double beep.

And voila!

You can set up your Toshiba Fire TV to your personal preferences and start using it again.
