Does Wyze cam work with SmartThings?

Wyze cam doesn’t work with SmartThings yet.

Meaning, you can’t control and automate any Wyze cam in your home via SmartThings.

If you want to manage your cameras, you can do so via the Wyze app.

SmartThings is one of the most popular automation platforms today.

You can do several complex automation with it. Making it one of the priority platforms of many smart homeowners.

One main downside of SmartThings is it has a limited number of integrations.

Sure, it works with some of the popular smart home brands.

But many smart devices are still incompatible with it.

And that includes Wyze cameras.

“What’s stopping SmartThings from adding Wyze to their system?”

Well, technically, SmartThings isn’t responsible for this matter.

Samsung SmartThings has decided to focus on enhancing and improving its platform.

Leaving the work of integrating products to third-party brands.

Meaning, it should be Wyze who should be doing the work in making Wyze cam compatible with SmartThings.

So, if you want to integrate your Wyze cam to SmartThings, put the pressure on Wyze.

Let them know that you’re interested in it.

And that integrating Wyze cam to SmartThings would be a good investment.

Knowing that a lot of smart homeowners are looking forward to it.

“Are there no Wyze customers who appealed yet?”

Many Wyze and SmartThings customers have been asking for this for years.

I’m pretty sure Wyze is aware of this.

Because they have directly answered this query in early 2021.

On their support page, Wyze has told their customers that their engineering team is evaluating this matter.

That’s good to hear, right?

But almost a year has already passed. And Wyze didn’t release updates about it.

In 2018, Wyze published a voting survey.

Mainly to see how many customers are interested in integrating Wyze cam with SmartThings.

Two years later, Wyze announced that they’re officially in the “researching process.”
