Does Saavn support Chromecast?

5 things you need to know about Saavn compatibility with Chromecast
#1: Saavn has rebranded into JioSaavn
Imagine my surprise when one day…
The Saavn app on my phone suddenly disappeared.
After a few minutes of panicking because I couldn’t find the app on the Play Store…
I finally saw it:
JioSaavn. The new name for the Saavn app.
This change happened in 2018 after Saavn merged with Jio, a telecommunications company.
While change may seem scary sometimes…
It certainly wasn’t for JioSaavn.
Why?
Because, except for the name and aesthetics, everything remained the same.
It still is/has:
- Free access to the pro version for 90 days.
- 320 kbps audio and personalized playlists for pro users.
- An intensive music library of more than 45 million songs.
- Compatible with Alexa, Chromecast, Google Home, Android Auto, AirPlay, and more.
Same old Saavn. Bold new look.
#2: Requirements you need to meet before using JioSaavn with your Chromecast
You may be under the impression that any device can use JioSaavn with Chromecast…
If so, you’re mistaken.
Like all things, these two must meet a few requirements before you’re able to use them.

For your TV
- Your TV has a working HDMI port.
- High-speed internet (At least 20 Mbps).
- It must have High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3.
For your phone
Android
- 14 to 15 Mb of free space.
- Android 6.0 or later for JioSaavn.
- Android 8.0 or later for Google Home.
iOS
- 70 to 80 Mb of free space.
- iOS 8.0 or later for JioSaavn.
- iOS 14.0 or later for Google Home.
